Football; Foley - I feel betrayed Full-back coming to terms with omission from Ireland's squad

Kevin Foley has revealed he feels 'betrayed' after being left out of the Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2012 by Giovanni Trapattoni.

The Wolves defender was replaced in the 23-man squad for the tournament by Paul McShane on Tuesday due to concerns over a hamstring injury.
Foley had been working on building up his fitness over the past week and played 45 minutes in a friendly game against a Tuscan Select XI on Tuesday evening.
However, concerns over the fitness of John O'Shea and Darren O'Dea prompted Trapattoni to select McShane ahead of Foley, and the full-back is coming to terms with his omission.
"It is hard to take, you know," said Foley. "I sort of feel betrayed. I don't want to go into too much detail. I just feel betrayed."
